McCain says Obama can't be trusted
At a fund raiser on Saturday night, John McCain stated that Barack Obama’s “word cannot be trusted”. Talk about a guy throwing stones, who lives in a glass house overlooking the Pacific Ocean for which he hasn’t paid property taxes on for the last four years. You’d think he could have gotten a loan to do so from his rich elitist wife. But I digress. John McCain has continuously shown his willingness to vacillate on key issues when he saw that he was losing constituents over an opinion. He is still complaining about Obama’s decision to not accept public funding, which is another example of McCain’s twisting of the truth. Until Obama had announced that he would not do what he signed in a statement he would do, (he signed dependent on McCain’s agreement to do the same), McCain had never signed off on it. Now I’m no lawyer but if Obama had signed on a conditional basis, and that condition was never met, the agreement was never validated. But this type of truth twisting is no surprise, because McCain’s candidacy is not a candidacy of honor. It is a fight at any cost to be elected. It is a realization that as a candidate on the real issues McCain fails miserably. It is merely a changing of the guard within the Republican Party, a sort of coronation of the next heir in line to the throne of influence. The Grand Old Party has lost its grandeur, at the hands of its own members and their unwavering intolerance and inability to evolve. To say that the Republican Party is out of step with the times, is not only accurate, but is proven each time Bush, McCain or any of their surrogates open their mouths. I think the American people are finally starting to see the lies and misrepresentations they’ve been fed over these last two terms of George W. Bush, and their reaction has been to lean towards making the choice of a man who really does represent a significant change. This wave of change will surely hit a lot of rocks which will try to break it up and diminish its force on its path to shore. But there is one fact that is indisputable about a wave, it is relentless by nature, and once it is formed, there is nothing that can stop it. William S. James, Political Surfer |
