Hillary's Catharsis: Finally
So months after Hillary was beaten, and following the boisterous demonstrations of the DNC’s meetings to decide how to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates, and the Unity speeches, and the “Beat the Press” secret rendezvous, and even more speeches, Hillary and her followers still need “Catharsis”. The DNC is hoping that allowing Hillary’s name to be placed in nomination at the Denver convention’s state-by-state roll call vote will deliver that catharsis and they can finally move on. When I first saw the video of Hillary's “Catharsis” speech, I saw a group of women who were clinging to an emotional attachment over the past, still clinging to something that millions of other reasonable adults had already accepted, Hillary lost. 1. the purging of the emotions or relieving of emotional tensions, esp. through certain kinds of art, as tragedy or music.

b. discharge of pent-up emotions so as to result in the alleviation of symptoms or the permanent relief of the condition.
[Origin: 1795–1805; NL Gk kátharsis a cleansing, equiv. to kathar- (var. s. of kathaírein to cleanse, deriv. of katharós pure) + -sis ] As fellow Democrats, I think we should all be sensitive to their needs, and pitch in to do our part to help this process of catharsis along. It’s too simple just to grab them by the shoulders and yell it straight into their faces “Hillary lost!” They are all very fragile at this point and the wrong move either way could have the negative effect of pushing them over the edge, risking the possibility of Ross Perot syndrome, or even worse, Ralph Nader syndrome sinking in. Then there would be very little left that anyone could do for them. According to the definition of catharsis, first we need to purge their emotions through art "as tragedy or music". I think sitting through Mama Mia, qualifies as pure tragedy of time wasted, so I think step number one should be for the DNC to take Hillary, and all her screaming and crying supporters, lock them in a big room, and run the musical, over and over, until they are begging to get out. And while Abba’s music provides an appropriately tragic soundtrack on its own, I think I would add a DJ mix with some Bette Midler’s "Wind beneath my sails" thrown in to appease the New Yorkers amongst them, and maybe even some Gloria Gaynor, "I will survive" for the Feminists. After all that purging (and I’d hate to be on that cleaning crew), next it says we need medicine. That’s simple, Valiums for everyone to calm the nerves and tension. And how about on Nomination day, a field trip for Hillary supporters, to a California Cannabis Club, with Rush Limbaugh's personal physician on site to hand out the prescriptions so everyone is legal. Incorporate a "Reggae” themed luncheon for them on the field trip, complete with authentic music, jerk chicken with pigeon peas and rice, Red Stripe, and a strict smoking encouraged policy. That should make for a nice calm bus ride back to Denver, and complete the medicinal end of their catharsis, leaving only the Psychiatry. I say we unleash the powers of Dr. Phil, and Dr. Ruth on them, and by the time they’re done, after several tons of tissue have been spent, after all that crying, and screaming, Hillary and her frantic crew can finally have their catharsis, and the Democrats can move on to do what they must, elect Obama in November, remember him?
