A Whining Liberal whines
Today I’m in total whine mode, and why? Because I’m a Liberal, and according to Phil Gramm, John McCain, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Carl Rove, and all the other conservatives, that is what we liberals do, we whine. On Friday, the Feds seized the assets of the failed U.S. Mortgage Bank, IndyMac. This is the second largest bank failure in U.S. history, and is just a small part of a deepening crisis. This country’s mortgage industry is spiraling down the toilet, banks are failing and through foreclosures on people’s homes, taking the lives of real people, and flushing them down the toilet with them. Another serious aspect of the economic crisis we face is inflation. Aside from losing their homes, Americans are facing skyrocketing prices on everything from gas, to milk, to fruits and vegetables. And at the same time, the dollar is weakening steadily against the other major world currencies, our foreign trade deficit is growing, and everything across the board is costing us more. John and Phil, George and Dick, Carl and Rush, aren’t that worried about it though, because their friends aren’t losing their homes, and they can all afford to pay more for goods and gas. They know it’s just all in our minds, because we’re a bunch of whining mental case liberals who are always critical of all the good they do. My message to them is simple, trickle down, conservative, supply oriented economics has once again failed, and it will always fail, because it doesn’t take the greed of the fat cats into account. It seems that the Republican’s economic platform can’t evolve beyond giving tax cuts to the richest Americans, and as a result to compensate, take away programs to help the poorest Americans. Their message to me is also simple, tax cuts good, entitlements bad. All you liberals out there, just stop your whining though, because it’s all in your mind. How can you complain about anything when the President and Congress just threw you a bone, and gave you a stimulus check? That’s supposed to pacify you through November at least. For myself, I’m not worried, because if John McCain is elected, I’m planning on winning his car battery contest. I could use the $300 million and then I wouldn’t care, because I wouldn’t need Social Security or Medicare, and I could easily become more conservative. Tax cut good, entitlements bad! So John, Phil, George, Dick, and Carl, I would like to say back to the drawing board on the economy guys, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t want to let you anywhere near it. You are the ones who had a big hand in bringing our economy to this state, and the only way that I can think of to keep you guys away from getting back to the drawing board is through my vote against you. You still have about four months to change my mind over to your way of thinking, but you’ll have to speak pretty loudly to be heard over all of the liberal whining. William S. James, Mental state of recession |
